YPF Luz – Production record in 2022

With load factors that exceeded 60 percent on a sustained basis and with months exceeding 70 percent, the Manantiales Behr wind farm, operated by YPF Luz, was positioned as leader in the ranking of the Best Load Factors of the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI), prepared by CAMMESA, with a value of 61.9 percent per year. Located in Chubut, Manantiales Behr is YPF Luz’s first wind farm. It has 30 wind turbines and an installed capacity of 99 MW, equivalent to 144.000 home consumption. In 2021, Manantiales Behr Wind Farm was one of the most efficient in the country, with a capacity factor of approximately 60%. In 2022, it was six times leader of the podium, thus achieving the first place in the annual ranking, the Energy Company highlighted.

The MB wind farm’s record operating levels were reached in March: 65.5%, April: 64%, June: 61.2%, August: 69.3%, September: 63.1%, and October: 72.2 percent.

Los Teros wind farm was also part of the podium in November with a factor of 60.1%. Los Teros is the company’s second wind farm and is located 45 km from Azul, Buenos Aires. It has an installed capacity of 175 MW, generates energy equivalent to the consumption of more than 230,000 homes and avoids the emission of more than 400,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Los Teros is one of the largest in the country and has the advantage of being close to the greatest electricity consumption centers in Argentina .

The Cañadón León wind farm was on the podium in October, with a load factor of 69.5%, in August, with 67.3%, and in July, with 60.1%. Cañadón León is YPF Luz’s third wind farm, commissioned in December 2021. Located in Cañadón Seco, Santa Cruz, it has an installed capacity of 123 MW of renewable, efficient and sustainable energy, equivalent to the used by more than 150 thousand homes and avoids the emission of more than 312,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. “These efficiency levels are worldwide very high, confirming YPF Luz’s commitment to generate more and better energy for the country”, remarked the company.
